Campers, SSPs, and Friends,

Thank you for the thoughtful gifts you gave me last Thursday night at our end-of-year camp gala.  I was overwhelmed with your love and gratitude.  The individual and group gifts were very generous and the performance was awesome.  I put the engraved silver box on my night stand so I will think of you every morning. And, I will always remember camp when I hear the song, Somewhere, Over the Rainbow.

Most importantly, thank you for years of friendship.  I have learned so much from the experience of leading camp, and from knowing each and every one of you.  You have taught me much about perseverance, patience, and kindness towards others.  I have grown in my faith by knowing you, and for that I am truly blessed.

Some of you expressed concern for the future of camp, but be assured that camp will continue to thrive for many reasons.

1.  The new board is committed to the values of camp; inclusion, respect for communication choices, fostering an encouraging environment, and empowering campers to get involved.

Steven Collins, President, Kim Best, Secretary, and Kathi Jeffra, treasurer along with Lisa Wirkus and Ingrid Martinez start their terms on October 1, 2018. I will work with them until my term ends, September 30, to make sure we have a smooth transition.

2.  Camper involvement continues to increase. This year, more campers were involved with camp than ever before.  Many campers taught workshops and classes, led games and support groups, and served as coordinators.  With your continued involvement, camp will prosper.

3.  Camp always has been and always will be a God-centered organization. God continues to bless camp with wonderful leaders and supportive friends.  If we continue to trust Him, camp will flourish.\

I will sign off with, "See you later" instead of "Goodbye".  Let's keep in touch.

With loving regard and a humble heart.

Brenda Talley (BT)
President
